Main Prem Ki Diwani Hoon is the story of Sanjana(Kareena Kapoor), a girl with full of life and vibrance. She lives life on her own terms and gets upset when her mother Susheela(Himani Shivpuri) wants her to see an NRI boy. Roopa(Tannaz Currim) the eldest daughter shows Sanjana's photo to Prem's mother who instantly aaproves of her. She eventually meets Prem Kishen(Hrithik Roshan). At first she cannot stand him but eventually they both fall in love with each other. But one day suddenly Roopa's email comes in which she reveals that Prem Kumar(Abhishek) the NRI boy couldn't make it and so they sent Prem Kishen who is an employee in Prem Kumar's company, to see Sanjana. The confused parents then outset Prem Kishen but Sanjana's father (Pankaj Kapoor) hesitates in doing so as he sees how much Sanjana and Prem are in love. Prem Kumar arrives to meet Sanjana, but she is now inseparable from Prem Kishen, her true love. Trouble ensues, as a wedding date is decided for Sanjana to marry Prem Kumar with Prem Kumar's mother's(Reema Lagoo) blessing. Will Prem Kumar come to know that Sanjana loves Prem Kishen or will he marry Sanjana?
